Freedom in Speech in Heaven
The right to freedom of speech is a prized amendment of the U. S. Constitution. Its conceptual roots can be traced to the Greek word parresias. Any lawful citizen of ancient Greece had the freedom to publicly speak his mind upon any matter, regardless of how controversial his sentiments were.
Because of the mega-greatness of Jesus’ high priesthood (Hebrews 4:14-15), every child of God not only has access to the throne of heaven, each is fervently exhorted to “come boldly (parresias) to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
Freedom of speech as a citizen in Greece was a precious and wonderful right. However, it pales significantly when compared to what a child of God has in the presence of heaven’s throne—John Chowning
